Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable loader driver and yard worker to join our team at our Asphalt plant in Salford. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining organisation within the yard. Experience and familiarity with loaders, telehandler and forklift operations are advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including telehandlers, loading shovels and forklifts. Assist with the organisation and tidiness of the yard area to ensure safety and efficiency Handle materials safely, adhering to health and safety regulations. Support shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods Perform basic mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Assist with construction-related tasks as required, including materials handling and site organisation Conduct daily safety checks of equipment and work areas to prevent hazards

Skills

Experience operating loading shovels, telehandlers and forklifts and current licence is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided. Strong materials handling skills with an emphasis on safety Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction environments is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures Good organisational skills with attention to detail Physical fitness to handle demanding manual tasks throughout the shift

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.31-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 70 per week
