About the Role:



In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating the Local Land Charges Register, processing search requests from solicitors, conveyancers, and members of the public, and ensuring accurate and timely provision of information.



You will work alongside our experienced Local Land Charges Offer and you will also work closely with colleagues across the council, as well as external stakeholders, to support the efficient transfer of land and property ownership information.



Previous experience in an administrative, legal, or property-related role would be an advantage, but we are equally interested in hearing from candidates with transferable skills who are willing to learn.



Key responsibilities:




Maintain and update the Local Land Charges Register in line with statutory requirements. Ensure you meet the agreed objectives for meeting Local Land Charges search requests Process and respond to official search requests accurately and within deadlines. Liaise with internal departments to gather and verify property-related data. Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and best practice guidance. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.

About you:



You will be a highly organised administrator with a meticulous approach to your work and a keen eye for detail. Comfortable working with data, you will have strong IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems. You'll be confident managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and will be able to work accurately to tight deadlines.



You'll also have strong communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation as well as with external customers and stakeholders.




You'll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability. As well as the colleagues that you work closely with every day, you'll also be part of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.



The role is not a legal position, but previous experience in administration, legal, or property-related work is helpful. Transferable skills and a willingness to learn are valued.
