We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Consultant to support clinical and research laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in laboratory procedures, specimen collection, patient care, and medical terminology. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate specimen processing, adherence to laboratory protocols, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The Consultant will play a vital role in supporting diagnostic processes and advancing research initiatives within a healthcare or laboratory setting.
Duties
Perform specimen collection and processing with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques
Conduct laboratory procedures including phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, and specimen handling
Assist in research laboratory activities, supporting experimental protocols and data collection
Support patient care activities by providing accurate information and ensuring comfort during specimen collection
Maintain detailed documentation of laboratory procedures, patient information, and test results
Follow all safety protocols, including aseptic techniques and proper disposal of biohazard materials
Collaborate with medical staff to interpret laboratory findings and ensure quality control
Support training of new staff or interns in laboratory techniques and hospital procedures
Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards, anatomy knowledge, pathology understanding, and physiology principles
Skills
Clinical laboratory experience with proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures
Research laboratory experience is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of specimen collection, processing, and hospital-based patient care practices
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, physiology, and vital signs monitoring
Experience with phlebotomy, aseptic technique, and laboratory safety protocols
Ability to operate various laboratory equipment and perform standard laboratory procedures accurately
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
Strong communication skills for documenting findings and interacting with patients and staff effectively
