Job Summary:



We are seeking an experienced

Locum Consultant in Internal Medicine

with subspecialty expertise across

Stroke, Acute, Respiratory, Geriatric, and General Medicine

to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team within a busy NHS Trust.

The post holder will provide high-quality, consultant-led care across the specified specialties. This is an

agency locum position

ideal for consultants available to start immediately and able to adapt quickly in diverse clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide consultant-level care across acute, stroke, respiratory, and geriatric/general medicine services. Participate in daily ward rounds, including stroke unit, AMU, and general medicine wards. Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to their training and development. Attend MDT meetings, liaise with allied health professionals, and contribute to discharge planning. Participate in acute on-call rota (if applicable). Ensure documentation and clinical coding is completed in line with Trust and NHS standards. Support service development and clinical governance activities where appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements:



Essential:



Full

GMC registration

with a license to practise. Entry on the

Specialist Register

in General/Internal Medicine or within 6 months of CCT.

MRCP(UK)

or equivalent. Minimum of

6 months UK NHS consultant-level experience

in stroke, acute, respiratory, or geriatric medicine. ALS certification.

Desirable:



Subspecialty training in Stroke or Respiratory Medicine. Prior NHS experience in multiple specialties listed. Teaching and audit experience.

Person Specification:



Strong clinical leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and teamwork. Adaptability to work in varied clinical settings. Commitment to high standards of care and patient safety.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 97.01-125.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
