Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients.
Participate in ward rounds, clinics, theatres, and emergency work.
Support on-call rota duties including nights and weekends (if required).
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Work collaboratively with consultants, junior doctors, nurses, and MDT teams.
Supervise/assist junior colleagues where appropriate (CT3+/ST3+).
Ensure safe prescribing and adherence to NHS Trust policies.

ALS - Advanced Life Support (Mandatory)
For Paediatrics
PALS - Paediatric Advanced Life Support (Mandatory)
For Neonatology / Labour Ward / Obstetrics
NLS - Newborn Life Support (Mandatory)
MOET / ALSO / AOLS
(Desirable for O&G emergency cover)
For Emergency Medicine / Trauma
ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support (Mandatory for Trauma roles)
For Psychiatry
BLS/ILS acceptable
(ALS preferred if covering general hospital work)
Essential Criteria
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Full GMC registration with licence to practise
Relevant experience at SHO or CT3+/ST3+ level in chosen specialty
Valid life-support certification (as listed above)
Ability to start
immediately (ASAP)
Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills
Desirable
Prior NHS locum experience
Postgraduate exams (MRCP, MRCS, MRCOG, MRCPCH, etc.)
Participation in audits, QI projects, and clinical governance
