Job Description

The successful candidate will be an empathetic, hard-working, conscientious doctor with excellent communication skills, who works well in a team and has an analytical mindset for problem-solving. A high level of organisational skill, good time-management and ability to appropriately triage complex cases and prioritise management as well as follow-up is also required. This post is to support the Uveitis (Ophthalmology) service and the post holder will be expected to fulfil the following duties; 1.25 PAs -- Cataract theatre 5.5 PAs -- Specialised medical retina/uveitis clinics; including laser and injection clinics 1 PA -- General Clinic 2 PAs - admin/study/research/Revalidation Clinical sessions deemed clinical activities are 4 hours each clinic PA. The appointee will be expected to participate in all aspects of clinical governance as developed by the Trust to monitor, maintain and develop the quality and effectiveness of care.



The successful appointee will be expected to participate in 8 clinical sessions including clinics, inpatient ward reviews as required, triaging and managing patient-initiated follow-ups/PIFU and referrals via the CNS and attend regional as well as national medical retina/uveitis meetings. There are two sessions of postgraduate education, and the expectation is that these will be used for either education or research. A degree of flexibility for these sessions is built into the timetable and the successful appointee will be expected to work flexibly.
