We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert advice on medication use, and ensuring optimal patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, medication administration, and patient care protocols, particularly within ICU settings. The Pharmacist will play a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals and ensuring safe, effective medication management for our patients.
Responsibilities
Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
Provide expert advice to patients and healthcare professionals regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
Monitor patient responses to prescribed treatments and adjust medication plans as necessary in collaboration with medical staff
Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of prescriptions, patient information, and medication inventories
Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and health regulations related to pharmacy practice
Assist in the training and supervision of pharmacy assistants and interns where applicable
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support patient care strategies
Stay updated on the latest developments in pharmacology, especially ICU medication protocols and anatomy knowledge
Requirements
Fully qualified Pharmacist with registration from a recognised professional body
Proven experience working within an ICU environment is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures
Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional patient care with empathy and professionalism
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in dispensing and record keeping
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Good communication skills to advise patients clearly on medication use and safety protocols
