Locum Planning Lawyer \xe2\x80\x93 West Midlands \xe2\x80\x93 3 months \xe2\x80\x93 Part Time \xe2\x80\x93 Remote Working \xe2\x80\x93 Up to \xc2\xa360 per hour Umbrella

Venn Group are seeking a Locum Planning Lawyer to join a Local Authority based in the West Midlands for a 3 month initial contract with the likelihood of extension thereafter.

Role: Locum Planning Lawyer

Organisation: West Midlands based Local Authority

Duration: 3 month\xe2\x80\x99s initial contract with the likelihood of extension thereafter

Working Pattern: Part Time \xe2\x80\x93 Up to 17 hours a week

Working Arrangement: Remote working, however attendance for a planning committee once a month is required

Hourly Rate: Up to \xc2\xa355 per hour Umbrella, however this is dependent upon the individuals relevant Planning Law and Local Government experience

The Requirements

The organisation are seeking to welcome a Qualified Lawyer on a locum basis. You must either be a Solicitor, Barrister or experienced CILEX professional, with previous Local Authority experience handling a Planning Law caseload.

The successful applicant will be confident when advising on planning matters and planning enforcement works. They should also be confident advising on section 106 agreements.

The Organisation are ideally seeking a Locum who is able to attend the planning committee in person, once every month.

Duties for the role

• Handling a varied general planning law caseload, advising on planning enforcement works alongside advising on any section 106 agreements that arise
• Attending planning committees on behalf of the Council, to ensure that the Council\xe2\x80\x99s objectives and agenda are upheld
• Checking legal documents prior to monthly committees
• Representing clients in discussions and negotiating with third parties in matters predominantly regarding planning law and any other possible areas of legal practice relevant to the position
• Maintaining and developing effective partnerships and client relationships whilst promoting and building new relationships to expand the Council\xe2\x80\x99s cliental
