Main duties of the job

This is a fixed term Locum post for 10 PA plus 1 PA and 3% Category A availability supplement for on-call post. Part time or job-share applications are welcome.

Successful applicants must have be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice , as well and Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 6 months of appointment.

Qualifications
Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Desirable
  • MRCPsych OR a specialist qualification from an EU country that complies with EU directive 2005/36/EU
Eligibility
Essential
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise
Desirable
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warnings and conditions on practice.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 6 months of appointment
Transport
Essential
  • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative
Clinical Skills, Knowledge and experience
Essential
  • At least 4 years postgraduate experience, including at least 2 years in core psychiatry training programme
  • Good knowledge in specialty
  • Good clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
Desirable
  • Postgraduate experience in specialty
Academic skills and life-long learning
Essential
  • Participated in continuous professional development
  • Able to use and appraise clinical evidence
  • Has actively participated in clinical audit
