Job Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated
Locum SHO
doctors (ST1 & ST2 level) to work across various NHS Trusts. The role will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care across multiple specialties, supporting consultants, senior medical staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication, clinical skills, and a robust understanding of medical and surgical procedures. Doctor will be expected to contribute to patient management, participate in on-call duties, and work across different specialties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
General Medical Care
: Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across various specialties under the supervision of consultants and senior medical staff.
Patient Management
: Involve in daily ward rounds, history taking, physical examinations, and medical decision-making.
Documentation
: Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient care including clinical notes, discharge summaries, and treatment plans.
Communication
: Liaise with other medical professionals, nursing staff, and allied healthcare teams to deliver integrated care.
On-call Duties
: Participate in on-call shifts as per the rota, providing emergency care when required.
Clinical Skills
: Perform medical procedures within the scope of your competencies (e.g., cannulation, venepuncture, wound care, etc.).
Patient Safety & Quality
: Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, protocols, and policies to maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Multidisciplinary Teamwork
: Collaborate with a wide range of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care plans and optimal patient outcomes.
Continuing Professional Development
: Actively participate in educational activities, clinical audits, and quality improvement projects.

Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
Must have a minimum of 6 months NHS experience
at SHO (ST1 & ST2) level.
UK medical qualifications (MBBS or equivalent).
GMC registration with a valid license to practice.
Right to work in the UK.
No clinical attachments will be considered.
Only applicants with direct NHS experience are eligible.
Proven ability to manage patients effectively, with strong clinical and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience in the specialty area you are applying for.
ALS (Advanced Life Support) or equivalent certification.
Good understanding of NHS policies and procedures.
Ability to handle emergency situations and provide appropriate responses.
Working Hours:
Full-time and part-time hours available (flexible shifts).
On-call rota and weekend working may be required depending on the department.
