Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Locum SPR

to join our multidisciplinary teams across

Paediatrics

,

Obstetrics & Gynaecology

, and

Anaesthetics

departments. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care and support the delivery of clinical services in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic doctor seeking flexible locum work while developing their specialty skills across multiple domains.

Key Responsibilities:



Clinical Duties:



Manage and care for patients in general paediatrics, neonatal units, obstetric theatres, delivery suites, and anaesthetic pre-op areas. Conduct ward rounds, patient assessments, and emergency response (e.g., crash calls, emergency C-sections). Assist with the delivery of anaesthetic services in elective and emergency theatre lists. Work collaboratively with consultants, junior doctors, nursing staff, and allied health professionals. Participate in handovers, MDT meetings, and patient care planning.

Education & Development:



Supervise junior trainees and medical students when applicable. Engage in departmental teaching sessions and CPD activities. Maintain an up-to-date portfolio with reflective practice and clinical skills logs.

Governance & Safety:



Adhere to clinical governance principles, infection control standards, and safeguarding policies. Report incidents, near-misses, and contribute to audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements:



Essential:



Full

GMC registration

with a licence to practise. Minimum

ST3 level or above

in one or more of the following: Paediatrics, O&G, Anaesthetics.

Right to work in the UK

. Recent clinical experience within an NHS setting.

ALS (Advanced Life Support)

and

NLS (Neonatal Life Support)

certifications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage clinical priorities.

Desirable:



MRCPCH, MRCOG, or FRCA part-exams passed. Experience in multiple specialties (Paeds, O&G, and Anaesthetics). Previous experience as a locum doctor. Attendance at advanced simulation courses or specialty-specific training (e.g., PROMPT, APLS, etc.).

Working Pattern:



Flexible shift patterns including days, nights, weekends, and on-calls. Opportunities for longer-term locum placements or rotation across specialties
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: 60.00-84.01 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
