Roles and Responsibilities
Route Planning
Plan and coordinate domestic and international transport schedules.
Ensure full compliance with EU drivers' hours rules and conduct detailed tachograph analysis. ADR where applicable.
Monitor drivers' hours, rest periods to meet regulatory standards.
Liaise with drivers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
Develop efficient delivery routes using route planning software.
Adjust plans dynamically based on traffic, weather, and operational changes.
Ensure routes comply with legal driving limits and vehicle restrictions
Overseas and Export Coordination
Manage export documentation and procedures for shipments to Europe and the USA.
Manage Overseas shipments to Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands
Communicate with freight forwarders and customs agents to resolve any issues.
Data & Reporting
Develop and maintain Excel worksheets, pivot tables, dashboards and regular reports to support decision-making.
Maintain accurate delivery records using web-based portals.
Monitor delivery performance and identify areas for improvement.
Customer Service
Provide proactive updates to customers regarding delivery schedules and export status.
Resolve delivery-related issues with professionalism and efficiency.
Fleet Management
Book vehicle inspections and repairs, ensuring full compliance with transport regulations.
Carry out compliance checks with all drivers, and support ongoing driver training programmes
Warehouse Operations
As part of the team undertake the dispatching of orders
Problem solve any batch queries or pick errors
Skills Requirement:
Proven experience in transport planning and export coordination.
In-depth knowledge of EU drivers' hours rules and tachograph analysis.
Strong understanding of international export procedures, especially to Europe and the USA.
Experience with route planning software and logistics optimisation.
Strong Skills across the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, excel and outlook) and comfortable working with data
Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving operational efficiency.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast- paced environment.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
High attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team with a flexible, adaptable attitude.
Salary:
24,800 to 27,800 per annum dependant on experience
Holidays:
23 days annual leave plus bank holidays which will increase after 2 years' service by one day per year, up to a maximum of 27 days plus bank holidays. Option to purchase additional leave.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 3pm
