Meade-King, Robinson & Co Ltd is a well-established chemical and food ingredients distribution company based in Liverpool. As our logistics operations continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Logistics Coordinator to support our Imports Manager and ensure the smooth movement of goods across international and domestic supply chains.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Imports Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will play a critical role in managing the transport and delivery of shipping containers, isotanks and airfreight from global suppliers to the UK and EU, as well as overseeing the movement of trailers and bulk chemical road tankers across Europe. This is a full-time, fast-paced role requiring strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the movement of shipping containers from suppliers globally to various destinations in the UK and Europe
Arrange and monitor the transportation of chemicals in both packed/trailers and bulk road tankers across the EU and into the UK
Liaise daily with freight forwarders, hauliers, shipping lines, and port operators
Track and update shipping schedules, ensuring timely delivery of goods and proactive communication of delays
Work closely with the Imports Manager to manage import documentation and customs clearance procedures
Maintain accurate records of shipments, transport costs, and delivery timelines
Resolve logistical issues as they arise and communicate effectively with internal teams (sales, purchasing, warehouse) to keep all stakeholders informed
Ensure full compliance with international transport regulations, safety standards, and chemical handling requirements (including ADR, REACH, and CLP).
Prepare and process import documentation, including certificates of origin and invoices through the Chamber of Commerce.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or import/export operations (chemical or bulk transport experience is highly desirable)
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and shipping line track and trace facilities
Understanding of international shipping and customs procedures (desirable)
A problem-solver with strong attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset
