The Hive is a response to the growing disconnect from nature more and more children experience. This affects not only their wellbeing but their ability to care for the natural world and how they apply the skills they develop as they grow up to the environmental challenges we all face.
Founded in 2014, we're a social enterprise helping children connect with nature through immersive adventures and projects. Our unique approach, rooted in the Forest School ethos, supports children as they explore, create, problem-solve and collaborate in the outdoors. We offer holiday camps and school workshops, alongside a Forest School nursery and Forest School training courses in London.
We are a Certified B Corp, as well as a London Real Living Wage and Equal Opportunities employer. We are also members of the Forest School Association, the Institute of Outdoor Learning and the Early Years Alliance.

Detailed
Reporting into our Head of Camps, with dotted reporting lines to our Nursery Manager and two Forest School Lead Trainers, you will be responsible for managing all our equipment, kit and resources. This includes ordering, organising, maintaining and distributing learning resources, physical kit and technology equipment for our holiday camps, school workshops, Forest School nursery and Forest School training programmes.
The role is very varied, and you'll be working with a range of interesting people across all the services we offer. You should be comfortable working as part of a large team for some of the time, particularly when our holiday camps are running. We work with a group of 50 - 60 freelance facilitators, so strong communication and social skills are vital. You should also be comfortable working independently, as a good amount of your time will be spent at our storage unit. It is also very hands-on, which means you'll get real ownership for your area of responsibility, with your own budget and the ability to manage your own time.
You'll be able to work remotely for about 40% of the time during the "off-season", but will also spend at least one day per week at our office, one day per week at our nursery and training centre, and one day per week at our storage unit. Our locations include our office in Blackheath (SE3 0TN); our storage unit in Eltham (SE9 5LT); our Forest School training and nursery site in Rotherhithe (SE16 6AX); and our camp locations in Northwood (HA6 2HT), Blackheath (SE3 0NJ), Dulwich (SE21 7AB) and Barnes (SW13 9JT). We also regularly host school workshops at sites around London. You should be comfortable spending a fair amount of your time on the road travelling between our locations, and should therefore be based within easy access of South East or South West London. You should also have a clean, UK driving licence and will preferably have access to your own vehicle.

? You have good attention to detail and strong communication skills, as you will need to work with a mix of freelance facilitators and permanent employees.
? You are pro-active and resourceful in your approach to logistics.
