Job Summary:



We are seeking a talented and motivated Logistics Manager (Cardrew) to join our dynamic team.


Key Responsibilities:





We are seeking a results-driven Logistics Manager to lead operations at our Cardrew Logistics Hub with a focus on Lean principles, high-performance leadership, and efficient resource management.


You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate handling of goods, while embedding a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.



You will liaise with and support internal departments and external customers with their logistics requirements and ensure they are dealt with in a timely, professional and efficient manner.



What you'll be doing



Leadership & Team Development



Lead, inspire, and manage a team of warehouse operatives and team leaders across shifts. Set clear expectations and foster a performance-driven culture aligned with Watson-Marlow values. Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and skills development plans.

Operational ExcellenceOversee all warehouse operations including goods-in, warehouses, picking, packing, and dispatch. Ensure high levels of accuracy, OTD delivery, and operational efficiency. Apply Lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, waste elimination) to drive process improvement and eliminate inefficiencies.

Continuous Improvement



Lead and embed a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Identify and implement best practices across inventory handling, space utilisation, and workflow optimisation. Use data and KPIs to drive decisions and measure improvements.

Safety, Compliance & QualityEnsure full compliance with HSE legislation, company policies, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment through daily audits and risk assessments. Foster a culture of safety awareness and zero incidents.

Systems & Inventory ManagementManage inventory accuracy through structured stock control processes and cycle counting and FIFO processes. Leverage IQM and ERP systems to maintain accurate records and improve process control. Drive digital adoption and systems-based efficiencies across the operation.


Who you'll be working with





Operations / Production / Manufacturing



To synchronise supply and demand, plan receipt of material into production, support production schedules, avoid line stoppages



Procurement / Purchasing





To align supplier deliveries, discuss incoterms, supplier lead times, consignment stock, inbound logistics



Sales / Customer Service / Order Management





To understand customer delivery requirements, review delivery schedules, communicate exceptions / delays



Quality / EHS / Compliance





To ensure logistics operations meet quality standards, safety, regulatory requirements (hazardous goods, packaging, labeling)



Warehouse / Distribution staff / Team Leaders





Day-to-day management, issue resolution, staffing, process adherence



Supply Chain / Demand Planning





To review forecasts, match demand vs supply, resolve conflicts between supply and logistics constraints

Skills/Experience:

Skills & Experience Required



Significant experience managing warehouse/logistics operations in a manufacturing or distribution setting. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong working knowledge of Lean principles and hands-on experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Deep understanding of warehouse safety regulations, stock control, and quality standards. Confident in data-driven decision making; experienced in using KPIs and performance metrics. Proficiency in warehouse management systems ERP systems (SAP, AX, or equivalent), and Microsoft Office tools.

Desirable Qualifications



Formal training in Lean Six Sigma or similar CI methodologies. NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
