Essential Requirements

Proven experience managing delivery/logistics operations Strong leadership and people-management skills Full driving licence with trailer towing licence Knowledge of fleet management, vehicle compliance, and road safety Highly organised, calm under pressure, and physically capable of manual handling

Role Purpose

Lead

Abbotts Event Hire's delivery and transport operations, ensuring all equipment is delivered and collected safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Manage drivers and fleet (vans and trailers) and play a key role in customer satisfaction and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the driver team, including rotas, briefings, training, and performance Oversee safe, on-time deliveries and collections; resolve delays, damages, and issues Manage vans and trailers including MOTs, servicing, compliance, and TACO records Act as lead operator for trailer movements and specialist deliveries Co-ordinate closely with the Warehouse Manager and provide cover when required Act as key holder and share weekend/on-call duties Ensure health, safety, and transport compliance
