Job Overview


Accountable for the effective operation of an assigned area in terms of logistics, quality, cost, delivery, technical, safety, and people management, whilst meeting defined goals.

Responsible for the day to day management of people within logistics, to ensure company's targets and objectives are achieved to meet customer requirements, ensure that employees comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Duties



Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction Ensure that data is collated, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored and targets achieved, e.g. material scrap, DOTIF, Cost of Production per tonne. Give consideration to cost and financial constraints Communicate with the teams by utilising the visual management/metrics, delivering toolbox talks/shift briefs with focus on quality, safety, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement Communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware of expectations and deliverables Drive performance of team leaders and team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance; tackling poor performance with individual employees by liaising with HR and creating plans to improve performance where necessary. Ensure safe working practices are maintained and 'Standard Operations' adhered to. Ensure that non-conformance is challenged and counter-measures are agreed and implemented. Motivate the team to create a high performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced. Through the utilisation of lean manufacturing techniques, strive to exceed the Company targets in productivity, efficiency, quality and reducing non value added activities on a continuous basis. Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, product changes and pilot build. Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results of her/his machinery group and ensuring compliance with procedures, and operating instructions. Verify and ensure accurate reporting of hours or work for the purposed of payroll, attendance records. Support the resolution of customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues Responsible for coaching and training of operators for products and processes within the local team. Ensuring flexibility of labour by multi-skilling team. Keeping accurate training records. Conduct performance development review process in a timely fashion. Conduct team meetings and briefings. Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems. Conduct incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure. Consistently promote corporate standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them. Provide product and process expertise within team, and respond to operator queries Work proactively with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities. Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team Liaise and communicate with other shifts and departments. Ensure an effective interface with is maintained. Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements. Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures. Ensure the safe and efficient fully documented movement of all materials. Improve material flow so that production targets and quality standards are achieved. Carry out training for all Fork lift truck personnel when instructed Accurately complete relevant inspection records. Ensure all Fork Lift Truck Drivers have a knowledge of the bar coding system. Ensure the system is accurate and kept up to date at all times. Carry out visual daily stock check to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained and there are no stock shortages. Liaise with production department at all times to report errors, system issues/failures. Feedback any improvements to the system. Support and assist in any continuous improvement initiatives. Report dangerous occurrences/risks/near misses. Ensure that all areas are up to a good housekeeping standard and 5S followed (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain). Carry out any other duties within the capabilities of the job holder which may arise or be determined by senior management.

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year
