Job Description

Greenwich Time To Talk is the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service in the borough of Greenwich. We opened in 2009. We deliver a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and counselling, based psychological interventions through a stepped care treatment model to people with common mental health problems such as anxiety or depression.



We are seeking a highly motivated Psychological Well-Being Practitioner to join our valued PWP team and our integrated Long-term Conditions service. The PWP team comprises a PWP team lead, 2 senior PWPs, qualified PWPs, and trainee PWPs. The LTC integrated team consist of a Lead, 1 HI therapist and 3 PWPs. The high profile team currently contributes to improving the quality of care and quality of life for people with mild to moderate mental health problems and also raise awareness of mental health across the borough.



If the successful candidate has not already completed the UCL PWP LTC top up training this will be offered as part of the role.



Each Psychological Well-Being Practitioner will have clinical roles and responsibilities including the delivery of short term interventions such as Guided Self-Help, Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Silvercloud), and Psycho-Educational Groups. This role involves working with clients with co-occurring anxiety and/or depression and a long-term health condition/s.



We have a regular programme of training for PWPs, providing teaching and coaching from peers, senior colleagues and external trainers.



In return we can offer you the chance to work as part of a dynamic supportive team that works in the community and as part of wider multi professional and multi agency services; develop clinical and teaching skills, participate in clinical supervision and work in diverse settings including primary care teams and voluntary agencies.



This post requires a DBS check. The successful applicant will be required to travel freely around the locality and be open to working flexibly outside the usual 9am-5pm hours at least once a week and other occasional times, as the service operates during the hours of 8am to 8pm. Therefore you will be expected to work at least one evening a week.

We work hard to keep the clinical caseload of our PWPs manageable to allow time for formal and informal learning, supervisions, service development and other CPD activities.



LTC PWPs will offer face to face, telephone, group and online low intensity cognitive and behavioural interventions to clients experiencing depression and or anxiety with co-occurring physical health difficulties.



Maintaining accurate and timely clinical notes.



Attending regular supervisions including weekly case management supervision, fortnight group clinical skills and specialist LTC supervision.
