Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of materials handling, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Duties

Operate lorries to transport goods to various locations while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload materials efficiently, ensuring proper handling techniques are used to prevent damage. Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, utilising a warehouse management system where applicable. Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Assist in warehouse operations, including materials handling and organisation of inventory. Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods. Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

Requirements

Valid HGV licence with a clean driving record. Previous experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous. Familiarity with forklift operation is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience in construction or related fields is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when handling shipments.
