Job Summary


We are seeking a reliable and experienced Lorry / Forklift Driver and Warehouse Operative to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting warehouse operations. This role requires a strong understanding of materials handling, warehouse management systems, and mechanical knowledge to facilitate efficient loading and unloading processes. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, accuracy, and professionalism are paramount.

Responsibilities



Safely operate lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies. Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of materials. Assist with warehouse management system entries related to shipping and receiving activities. Packing Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly. Support warehouse tasks including stock replenishment, picking & packing, and inventory management. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate loading sequences and delivery schedules. Maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries, pickups, and transport activities. Follow health and safety protocols during all operations to minimise risks on site and on the road.

Qualifications



Valid UK driving licence suitable for lorry operation, with a clean driving record. Experience in warehouse management systems (such as AS400) is desirable. Proven experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, and stock management within a warehouse environment. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and basic repairs is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes. Familiarity with forklift operation (certification preferred). Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and inventory control. Knowledge of construction or related industries is a plus but not essential. Pay: 12.33-16.25 per hour
