As an Air Freight Distributor, you will be responsible for the timely and secure collection, transport, and delivery of air freight consignments between airports, warehouses, freight forwarders, and customer sites. Operating a Luton van, you will ensure all shipments comply with aviation security standards, customs requirements, and client service expectations.

Responsibilities

Collect and deliver air freight consignments to and from airports, freight forwarders, and customer locations. Handle cargo with care, ensuring safe loading/unloading in line with manual handling and security procedures. Complete all delivery paperwork, PODs (Proof of Delivery), and electronic logging systems accurately. Adhere to aviation security protocols, including cargo screening and secure transport rules. Plan efficient delivery routes while complying with driving hours and regulations. Carry out pre-journey vehicle checks and maintain the van in roadworthy condition. Liaise with operations teams, warehouse staff, and clients to ensure smooth handovers. Handle urgent and time-critical deliveries (often with same-day deadlines).

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and operation. Previous warehouse experience is an advantage. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
