Due to increased growth we are now looking for an LV Electrical Project Engineer. The role is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and management of electrical systems in various projects. This role requires you to have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, overseeing electrical projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing electrical aspects of projects from inception to completion
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Design
:
Lead the electrical installation of projects, ensuring all electrical systems and components meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts.
Select and specify electrical equipment and materials, considering cost, quality, and project requirements.
Prepare and review electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and power system designs.
Project Management
:
Coordinate and oversee electrical engineering tasks to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Develop and manage project schedules and work plans.
Provide support to the LV Business Manager by monitoring progress, reporting on milestones, and adjusting project plans as necessary.
Team Collaboration & Communication
:
Collaborate with HV & LV engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within larger project plans.
Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate project execution.
Conduct technical meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholders to communicate progress, issues, and solutions.
Quality Control & Safety
:
Ensure that all electrical systems are installed and maintained in compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Perform inspections and audits on electrical works to ensure safety protocols are followed.
Monitor quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
:
Resolve technical issues and challenges during the design, installation, and operation of electrical systems.
Provide support during system commissioning and post-installation testing to ensure proper functionality.
Documentation & Reporting
:
Prepare detailed project reports, including design calculations, equipment specifications, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
Ensure proper documentation is maintained throughout the project, including revisions, as-built drawings, and permits.
Cost Management
:
Assist in developing project budgets, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Track procurement of electrical materials and equipment to ensure timely delivery and within budget.
Qualifications
JIB Graded as a Technician or above.

SSSTS/SMSTS
Experience
:
You must have 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in a project engineering or management role.
Experience in industrial, commercial, or construction projects is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with electrical installation, power distribution, and control systems.
Skills
:
Proficient in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar).
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEC 61000, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and other engineering tools.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
This role is site and office based throughout the UK. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work in a team orientated environment. There are opportunities for overtime and weekend work where necessary to meet project deadlines . Travel will be required but a company vehicle will be provided.
