What you'll do:
Working as a LV cable jointer on DNO / IDNO LV Networks, new connections work, including single and 3 phase services (Live and dead) for unmetered supplies.
Undertake cable location and identification to ensure safe excavation, cable laying and temporary/ permanent reinstatement, ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act & NERS.
Ensure all work is undertaken in line with National Electricity Registration Scheme operational procedures and Via risk and method statements.
Ensure?compliance?within teams, that?all?relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and procedures, taking?personal responsibility for own and others?Health?and safety and welfare.
Ensure familiarisation with the Model Distribution Safety Rules, which highlights a set of generic Rules that Western Power Distribution uses as the foundation of its safety management system for operations on its network, to ensure that work is safely carried out and reduce the risk of serious injury to yourselves and colleagues.
What we're seeking:
Hold a City & Guilds 2322 / 2339 level 2 or equivalent.
Hold industry recognised qualifications, New Roads and Street Works Act
Knowledge / experience in the use of plant, transport, materials and operations associated with Highway Electrical Installation and maintenance activities.
Ability to apply health and safety legislation to the planning and delivery of ICP works in order to reduce or eliminate risk.
Full UK driving licence
Able to understand drawings, follow verbal and written instructions, and to work as part of a team
Knowledge and experience of working on the Western Power Distribution network and equipment.
Be able to read and understand 1:500 stat drawings,?to ensure safety of others.
