The InPost Newstrade division specialises in final-mile delivery for newspaper publishers and magazine distributors, covering 75% of the UK and Ireland with a 45% market share. Operating from 36 locations, it delivers almost 1bn newspapers, magazines, and collectibles to around 21,000 customers. The division includes core final-mile operations, magazine primary distribution, corporate distribution, outsourced retail consultancy, and airside media placement.

About the role:




As a Machine Line Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in managing and inspiring your team to consistently meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs). You will oversee all aspects of machine line operations--from daily setups and quality control to training and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers the exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team while ensuring top-quality service delivery in partnership with innovative solutions like InPost Response.

Hours:

07:00am - 15:45pm

Salary: 28,939.39 per annum



What you'll be doing:



People Leadership:




Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Operatives and Temporary staff to maximize performance. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Identify and support development needs through structured 1:1 feedback and skills matrix evaluations.

Operational Excellence:




Conduct daily machine platform checks and report any faults immediately to engineering. Optimize machine setups to maximize output while maintaining the highest quality standards in line with service provider specifications. Oversee quality control, including hourly checks and mail sorting accuracy. Assist engineering with routine maintenance and support efficient stock management, including stock counts and movements. Execute hand enclosing and manual mail sorting as required to meet customer requirements with precision and efficiency. Maintain meticulous records to support piecework and job tracking.

Customer Service & Communication:




Act as a vital liaison between internal departments and client services, including managing InPost Response communications to ensure prompt, professional engagement with service providers and customers. Facilitate smooth handover and sign-off processes, ensuring transparent communication across teams.

What we need from you:




Proven supervisory experience within a machine operation or manufacturing environment. Positive "can-do" attitude with excellent communication skills. Strong organizational and administrative abilities. Solid mechanical/computer skills with in-depth machine operational knowledge. Ability to set priorities, motivate teams, and maintain high standards for self and others. Flexibility to work varied hours when required. Right to work in the UK
