The purpose of this role is to support and increase the production of high-quality fire door sets by accurately cutting and preparing materials, ensuring precision and consistency in line with daily production requirements. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficiency and quality standards within the workshop.

Key Responsibilities (Duties):
Operate and calibrate beam saws and upcut saws to cut doors and frames to precise measurements and specifications.
Interpret and execute daily cutting lists to ensure production efficiency and accuracy.
Record production data, including quantities, measurements, and any variances, for quality and traceability purposes. Conduct quality inspections on materials and finished components to verify compliance with technical standards.
Perform regular maintenance checks and report any mechanical or safety issues to the supervisor.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain optimal machine performance through routine checks and basic maintenance.
Assist in loading and unloading materials to ensure a smooth workflow.
Follow health and safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and safe handling of machinery.
About you
Experience operating woodworking machinery, ideally beam saws or upcut saws (training provided for the right candidate).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Basic mechanical knowledge for machine setup, calibration, and maintenance.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering consistent results.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and processes.
Pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining a safe, organised workspace.
