About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated

Machine Operative

to join our Operations team in Leicester. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and running bagging machinery, monitoring product quality, and ensuring production targets are met. You'll also support your team, keep the lines running efficiently, and step up to cover the Line Leader when needed.

This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor bagging machines to meet customer specifications. Lead and guide Production Operatives on daily requirements. Motivate the team to achieve high output, efficiency, and quality standards. Support the Shift Manager with production planning and staffing. Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and escalate issues to the Engineering team when required. Carry out production checks in line with site compliance and HACCP standards. Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times. Minimise and accurately record waste. Complete changeovers efficiently and ensure consumables are always available. Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, raising any concerns promptly. Cover additional duties across production lines when needed (e.g., packing, palletising, cleaning).
What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment (preferred but not essential). Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to take initiative and solve problems. Strong focus on quality, efficiency, and safety. Flexibility to cover different tasks and support colleagues when required.
