We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Production Setter to join our Brushmaking Department. Reporting to the Head Technician, this role is key to ensuring the effective and efficient operation of brushmaking machinery, contributing to the achievement of safety, quality, and production targets.

About the Role



This hands-on position involves machine setting, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, supporting both the Brushmaking and Workshop departments to ensure optimal machine performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities



Set, change over and maintain machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production Carry out regular machine maintenance, including oiling and greasing, and ensure all automatic oilers are functioning Support the development and execution of a Preventive Maintenance Plan with the Brushmaking Manager and Lead Technician Conduct and document machine safety checks and specification changes Maintain a clean and tidy department in accordance with insurance and safety regulations Report any performance concerns relating to Production Operatives to the Brushmaking Manager Escalate mechanical issues to the Head Technician as required Train and support Production Operators, encouraging high standards and best practices Support and collaborate with Technicians and colleagues to foster a productive and positive working environment Assist with design and manufacture of new parts, fixtures, and jigs; participate in improvement projects across departments Maintain and repair pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotic systems Apply lean principles and uphold mechanical engineering standards across the plant.

Working Hours and Benefits



This is a site-based role, working 44 hours per week

Monday - Thursday: 7am to 4:45pm Friday: 7am to 3:45pm Salary 32,000 per annum.

Skills & Experience



We're seeking a motivated individual with:

Strong mechanical engineering experience, with a hands-on approach to machine maintenance and repair Experience with robotic or machine programming, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues High attention to detail and a strong commitment to product quality and safety Ability to follow defined processes, maintain accurate records, and work methodically Confident communicator with the ability to train and support team members Flexible, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
