About The Opportunity:

We are now looking to recruit a Macro Space Planner, reporting to the Format & Space Planning Manager. You will be responsible for creating customer centric macro floor plan proposals predominantly for our member branch network of over 5000 pharmacies but also supporting, when required, with our Rowlands retail estate of almost 400 branches across the UK.

You will take the lead in liaising with members to define their retail space planning offer, building in their requirements whilst also offering your expert advice around macro space principles relating to adjacencies, customer flow and customer offer.

As part of this role you will manage external stakeholders in the form of suppliers ensuring kit reaches relevant branches in a timely manner whilst also tracking costs and nurturing relationships. You will also be required to work cross functionally with internal departments to ensure effective implementation at branch level.

Who We Want: We are looking for someone who can;

  • Determine and develop our macro space planning proposition to be applied across our member branch network
  • Support our retail branch network in a macro space capacity as and when required working closely with internal Space Planning colleagues and the wider OTC team
  • Confidently communicate and engage with various stakeholders across numerous businesses both internal and external at varying levels, nurturing and strengthening relationships
  • Manage external suppliers and costs in relation to physical items required to support the implementation of the OTC offer in branch
  • Understand the Pharmacy OTC customer proposition and identify areas of opportunity within our member pharmacy offer
  • Have strong commercial acumen to understand how your work will drive sales, supporting our wholesale OTC budget and 2023 growth strategy
  • Ability to influence and collaborate
This is a permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Experience

Minimum 2 year experience working in a retail Space planning function

Macro (preferred) and Micro space planning knowledge

Understanding of the Pharmacy OTC market

Retail and Wholesale experience (preferred)

Knowledge and skills
  • Good knowledge of Pharmacy
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
Preferred not essential
  • Micro Space Planning knowledge and system experience
