Job Overview:



We are looking for an organized and proactive Magazine Production Coordinator to manage the workflow across multiple departments, ensuring content is delivered on time, artwork meets specifications, and the magazine production process runs smoothly. This role involves a blend of planning, communication, content management, and production coordination to ensure timely and high-quality magazine releases.

Key Responsibilities:



Planning & Team Communication:

Set clear deadlines and expectations for each stage of production. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content submission, design reviews, and final approvals are completed on time.

Content Coordination & Scheduling:

Work closely with the Business Operations Manager to plan upcoming content and front cover designs. Ensure all sections; editorial, advertisements, and advertorials are submitted on schedule.

Artwork & Advert Management:

Manage advert bookings and editorial content using magazine production software. Ensure that all materials are correctly formatted and meet the magazine's creative standards. Make required changes to artwork as requested by customers.

Production:

Compile all content, adverts, and advertorials to prepare 6 editions per month. Work with the Business Operations Manager for final proof approval, then send the magazine to print.

Post-Print:

Update the website with editorial content and "What's On" listings. Collaborate with the marketing team to create social media posts. Ensure all sales/marketing collateral is updated with new deadlines and send out magazines to new customers.

Skills & Qualifications:



Proficient in InDesign (PC version):

Strong experience with InDesign to create and manage magazine layouts and artwork.

Confident in Customer Communication:

Comfortable using the phone to communicate with customers, ensuring deadlines are met and making adjustments as needed.

Highly IT Competent:

Experience with cloud-based systems such as Office 365, Hubspot, Slack, Trello, and Creative Cloud.

Personal Attributes:

Strong multi-tasking abilities with an eye for detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Capable of resolving production challenges like content delays or software malfunctions quickly and efficiently.

Understanding of Advertising & Design Principles:

Knowledge of design and advertising principles, ensuring content is aligned with industry standards.

Team-Oriented:

Enjoys working in a small, collaborative environment.

Self-Starter:

Takes initiative and approaches tasks with a "can-do" attitude.
