Maintenance Assistant

Fairfield House Hotel

Part-Time (14hrs/3 days)

We are looking for a hands-on and enthusiasic Maintenance Assistant to join the team at Fairfield House Hotel. This is a part-time role working 3 days per week, 9am-2pm, with flexibility to work weekends as required.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and excellent condition of our hotel's facilities. You'll carry out a variety of tasks, from routine checks to addressing immediate repair needs.

Responsibilities

Assisting with general maintenance tasks across the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house Performing minor repairs to plumbing, electrical fittings, carpentry, and decor Conducting preventative maintenance checks on equipment and systems Responding promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from staff and guests Ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and safe Assisting with the upkeep of hotel grounds, as required Adhering to all health and safety regulations Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work undertaken

What we're looking for:

Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment Basic knowledge and practical skills in various trades (e.g., plumbing, electrics, carpentry, painting) A strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of work Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Good communication skills A positive attitude and a flexible approach to work, including some weekend and on-call availability if required Hold a valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
