Maintenance Assistant

We are recruiting a full time Maintenance Assistant to join the dynamic team at Market Street hotel.

As part of our maintenance team, you will have excellent attention to detail, providing general maintenance of the property, upkeep of its facilities to ensure that the highest level of guest service is maintained at all times.

About the Role:

You will have a passion for fixing things....!. Experience of working in a hotel maintenance department of a similar quality hotel is essential, preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more building trades including plumbing, painting/decorating or general building maintenance.

This position, is based on a 40-hour week, working Tuesday - Saturday, with occasional Sunday shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

You'll work with the Maintenance Manager to drive continuous improvement. You'll take ownership and resolve any daily maintenance issues as they arise. You will support in preventive maintenance of guest bedrooms and public areas such as grouting, painting, basic plumbing and electrical works. Support with H&S audits and fire checks. As the position involves working predominantly in guest areas, candidates must be smart, polite and respectful. You will report directly to the hotel Maintenance Manager.

Role Requirements:

At least one year of experience, preferably in a similar role, working in a 4 or 5 star hotel environment is essential for this position. Must have a valid right to work in the United Kingdom. On call duty may be required. This position will include occasional shifts working Saturday and/or Sunday. Additional hours may be required to support the hotel during our busier periods including bank holidays. Offer of employment is subject to satisfactory reference checks.
