Marie Curie is the UK's leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they're likely to die from.


The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

We are seeking full-time Maintenance Assistants to join our facilities team at Marie Curie Hospice.

Location:

Liverpool Hospice

Contract:

Fixed term, Full-Time (12 months)

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday 08:00-16:00

Salary:

24,937 - 26,598 per annum (pro rata), plus a whole range of Marie Curie Employee Benefits


As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering effective maintenance and portering services, ensuring the hospice environment is safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires someone who is proactive, flexible, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with a strong understanding of health and safety practices and a commitment to upholding the values of hospice care.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

Recent and relevant experience or level 2 City & Guilds qualification Recent experience of working in a similar role An appreciation of technological advances in building management and maintenance systems An appreciation of COSHH regulations An understanding of the basic Health & Safety Ability to foster good teamwork Ability to prioritise work effectively and efficiently Flexible and creative approach to problem solving
