We're seeking an experienced and proactive

Caretaker

to support a wide range of maintenance and site-related tasks around a school site

Key Responsibilities

Carry out and record regular safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, playground equipment, and legionella prevention. Complete a variety of maintenance tasks as directed by the Head Teacher, such as basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting. Plan and manage a rolling decoration schedule, to be completed during school holidays. Oversee contractors working on-site, ensuring their work is safe, high-quality, and completed properly. Maintain the school grounds, including grass cutting and hedge trimming when needed. Keep all pathways and entrances clear of leaves, moss, snow, and ice to ensure safe pedestrian access at all times. Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Head Teacher or the Estates Team

Requirements

Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance operative Ability to work effectively without direct supervision Organised, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach
