Reporting to, and in association with, the Maintenance Manager have responsibility for the proper maintenance of the Maisan combined cycle power facility. Oversees the troubleshooting, maintenance & repairs of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to gas turbine, steam turbine, generators, heat recovery steam generator, air cooled condenser, HV transformers & switch gear, compressors, water treatment plant, motors, pumps, valves, fans, diesel engines, and other auxiliary equipment.

Strictly adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees, contractors and public safety.







This position is on an 8 / 2 rotational basis in Iraq, candidates can be based remotely and travel.

Job Responsibilities



Competently coordinate the maintenance of a combined cycle generating facility, and all associated auxiliaries, with minimal guidance or assistance. Ensures site safe system of work, and H&S procedure, compliance for all maintenance activities. Communicates plant issues and keeps the Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager and, when appropriate, the Facility Manager fully informed of unusual conditions, damaged equipment, and work progress impacting facility operations. Oversees planning function providing works scheduling and information for projects / outages. In association with Maintenance Manager, develop work plans for upcoming projects / outages. Working with Operations Coordinator, ensure appropriate prioritisation of maintenance works. In association with maintenance engineers, prepare & plan all aspects of corrective works. In association with engineers, prioritise and assign work to Maintenance Technicians. Provide the Maintenance Manager detailed information & reports regarding the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance department work schedule and maintenance performance. Instruct, train and assist Maintenance Technicians to ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance with H&S policy & procedures, with utmost Quality and in a timely manner. Oversee collection and analysis of plant data as required to facilitate a condition based and predictive maintenance approach. Support RCA investigation of equipment failures and recommend appropriate modifications. Utilise computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage works in a consistent manner, aligned to the facility maintenance philosophy. Ensures detailed recording, in the CMMS, of all maintenance investigations & works performed. Oversee identification & procurement of spare parts required for all systems, for both corrective and preventative maintenance, based upon criticality and maintenance philosophy. Ensure timely raising of purchase requests, and reordering of spares, in accordance with site procurement procedure for all goods & services required for the performance of plant maintenance tasks; this includes but is not limited to, providing technical specifications, defining detailed scopes of works, identifying potential suppliers, supporting tender preparation, issuing requests for quotations, recommending preferred supplier. Track, update & confirm delivery of spare parts; confirm correctness & condition of delivery. Monitor and ensures the correct supervision of all maintenance works. Performs capital project / major program responsibilities assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Develops and maintains Work Order Job Safety Analyses (JSA's) Ensures cleanliness of all maintenance work areas. Stands in for and represents the Maintenance Manager when requested.

Required Skills / Knowledge



Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of large, state of the art, gas / oil fired combined cycle power plant maintenance. Demonstratable decision making ability in emergency situations. Capable of writing procedures, work requests, technical specifications, scopes of work, purchase requisitions, and work plans. Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical SLD, logic drawings, technical manuals and P&ID's, write routine reports, solve practical problems. Must clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel. Mechanical, instrumentation and electrical equipment knowledge is required. Possess good understanding of power plant operations. Demonstrate good verbal and written English language communication skills; Arabic beneficial. Knowledge of large frame, advanced technology turbine generators, Siemens SGT5-4000F plus. Advanced knowledge of CMMS and work planning.

Experience



Six to ten years' related experience (may include periods of relevant training) preferred. Extensive HP boiler / HRSG, steam systems & auxiliaries maintenance experience desired. Supervisory experience. Outage / turnaround planning & management. Middle East/Africa location experience in a camp environment preferred - Iraq a plus.

Education Requirements



High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum - relevant Associates Degree (AA), Trade certificate or equivalent.

Physical Requirements



Ability to do; walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting (up to 50 pounds). Work shift hours, overtime, and irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility. From time to time the working hours will be determined on short notice based on plant requirements. This position is on an 8 / 2 rotational basis in Iraq, candidates can be based remotely and travel.
