THG LABS offers a unique end-to-end service specialising in the development and supply of premium beauty and cosmetic products to highly respected brands and retailers on a global scale. We now have over 400 talented individuals working across our sites in Trowbridge, Frome and Radstock - including a state-of-the-art laboratory and 98,000 square foot ever-developing manufacturing site.

We are now searching for positive and pro-active Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to join our fast-paced Engineering team at our Frome site on a full-time basis.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday 6am - 2.15pm & 2pm-10.15pm (Shift rotation)

Role Requirements - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

We're looking for a proactive and versatile Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical expertise and sound mechanical understanding to join our fast-paced engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of production and site equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, control panels, and automated machinery. Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to engineering projects aimed at increasing equipment reliability and performance. Maintain accurate maintenance records using the company's CMMS system. Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, environmental, and quality standards. Provide technical support and collaborate closely with production and operations teams.

Essential Requirements:

Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC) in Electrical or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineering. Proven experience in a similar maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environment. Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with a solid understanding of PLCs, sensors, drives, and control systems. Basic mechanical skills (e.g., bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Flexible, team-oriented, and capable of working independently under pressure.

Desirable:

18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations. Experience with automated systems, robotics, or packaging machinery. Knowledge of lean maintenance or continuous improvement practices (TPM, Kaizen, 5S).
