You'll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and proactive maintenance of factory plant and equipment, ensuring maximum availability and utilisation of capital equipment while maintaining the highest standards in safety and compliance. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our ability to recycle a range of flexible plastic materials, preventing it from going to landfill, giving it new life and helping to improve our environment by ensuring that products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This is a new role that offers both stability and long-term potential in a fast-moving, forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular maintenance checks and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to assist in repairs and installations.
Collaborate with other team members to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing any concerns or queries from internal stakeholders regarding equipment functionality.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Ensure all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory requirements
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
Familiarity with reading schematics for electrical systems is essential.
Proven experience in maintenance practices within an industrial setting.
Electrical experience is highly desirable for troubleshooting complex systems.
Relevant technical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
Candidates should be self-motivated and ambitious with desire to progress in the business.
Prior knowledge and experience in plastics recycling, and extrusion processes will be a distinct advantage.
