We are a firm based in Warrington, Cheshire. We specialise in refitting and maintenance of retail and commercial buildings, with occasional other construction work. We are expanding into a facilities maintenance role and require somebody to oversee this work.
The Maintenance Estimator is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for maintenance projects, repairs, and service work. This role works closely with maintenance teams, engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure all project scopes are understood and costed accurately.
We would be happy to consider a self-employed person for this role should the scope of the duties allow.

Duties
Review work orders, site conditions, drawings, and technical documentation to determine project scope.
Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Conduct on-site inspections to gather information needed for estimating.
Collaborate with maintenance planners, supervisors, and procurement to refine project requirements.
Analyze historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy.
Prepare proposals, bid documents, and cost breakdowns for internal and external use.
Monitor pricing trends for materials, machinery, and labor rates.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions as needed.
Ensure all estimates comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards..
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in estimating, maintenance planning, or technical maintenance roles.
Strong understanding of industrial or facility maintenance processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Proficiency in estimating tools and MS Office (Excel required).
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Knowledge of cost control principles and techniques is highly advantageous.
A recognised qualification in quantity surveying, construction management or related fields would be beneficial but is not essential.
