Under the direction of the Home Manager, the Maintenance/Handyperson is responsible for providing a high standard of maintenance services in line with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This includes both planned and reactive maintenance to ensure the home remains safe, well-presented, and fully operational.
You will be responsible for prioritising and managing maintenance tasks effectively, supporting the overall running of the home, and contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Compliance
Carry out routine statutory checks at required intervals and maintain accurate records.
Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Report maintenance issues promptly to the Home Manager.
Undertake painting, decorating, and minor repairs as needed to maintain high standards across the home.
Liaise with external contractors to ensure mandatory service checks are completed as scheduled.
Work closely with the Home Manager and Group Estates Manager on maintenance projects and larger works.
Maintain clear records of all identified faults, defects, and subsequent repairs.
Proactively ensure all maintenance standards are met and maintained.
Requirements
Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role preferred.
Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Full UK Driving Licence (required).
Authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
