The Role
We're looking for a
hands-on, motivated Maintenance Lead
to take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and improvement of our buildings and grounds. You'll work closely with contractors and lead the maintenance team to make sure everything runs smoothly, safely, and looks its best year-round.
This is a
practical, varied, and active role
, not office-based, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, using their skills across multiple trades, and seeing the tangible results of their hard work. You'll have the opportunity to shape how the Estate is maintained for the long term, making this a role with real potential to grow as part of the Estate's future.
Key Responsibilities
Leading, motivating, and supporting the maintenance team to deliver high-quality work across the Estate
Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs across estate buildings and grounds including plumbing, carpentry, electrics, and equipment care
Responding quickly to urgent repairs and maintenance issues
Supporting one-off maintenance projects, restorations, and renovations
Conducting regular inspections and keeping maintenance records up to date
Driving and general errands as needed
Assisting the land team during busy periods
Ensuring all work follows good health and safety practice
About You

Essential skills and experience:
Strong practical and trade skills (carpentry, plumbing, electrics, building maintenance)
Experience in property or facilities maintenance
Confident leading and motivating a small team
Flexible, proactive, and happy to turn your hand to whatever's needed
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Health & Safety awareness and training related to the maintenance of an estate and properties
Comfortable using WhatsApp for team communications
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Based locally or open to relocating nearby
Competitive salary based on experience
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work as required
