We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Directors and Operations Manager, this key role is hands-on and involves leading the maintenance team to achieve the highest possible standards in equipment and facilities to meet compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with the ability to maintain and repair various systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and ensure all maintenance activities exceed safety standards and comply with policies and legislation.
- Manage weekly rotations, urgent repairs, and daily maintenance to support continuous operations.
-Apply technical skills and ingenuity to the correction of equipment problems causing production downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to identify any issues or potential problems
- Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions
- Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching, performance reviews, and by Identifying skill gaps and coordinating training and development.
- Optimise spare parts inventory ensuring ongoing availability.
- Maintain up-to-date technical and compliance records.
- Oversee external contractors, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any maintenance-related concerns
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed
-Adhere to quality standards set by the company and external bodies e.g. BRC.
- Adhere to Health and Safety, Hygiene and security procedures.
Experience:
Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining industrial equipment
Mechanical relevant Trade qualification, diploma or degree.
Electrical knowledge is desirable.
5+ years' experience in a similar role.
3+ years supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent troubleshooting ability.
Proven track record building solid working relationships.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledgeable in Maintenance best practice and relevant systems.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft programs Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Good technical analysis ability and proficient in report writings.
Fluent in English.
Food industry knowledge & CAD and programming skills highly desirable.
Welding experience is a plus
