The Opportunity




A leading food manufacturing business is seeking a proactive and experienced

Maintenance Manager

to oversee engineering operations on site. This role is key to ensuring plant reliability, compliance, and the continuous improvement of engineering performance. You'll lead maintenance strategy, support day-to-day operations, and play a critical part in shaping a high-performing engineering culture.


Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll work closely with operations and production teams to ensure maintenance delivery aligns with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Lead, support and develop the onsite engineering and maintenance teams. Ensure effective delivery of

both planned and reactive maintenance

activities. Maintain legislative and audit compliance across the engineering function. Drive a safety-first culture across all engineering activities. Implement and enhance maintenance strategies including

preventative and predictive maintenance

. Maintain accuracy and integrity of the

CMMS system

and engineering records. Manage critical spares strategy to minimise downtime. Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives across systems, equipment, processes and people. Participate in daily operational review meetings and wider improvement projects. Report engineering performance and develop long-term reliability improvements.

Experience & Qualifications



Essential:



Engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled). Proven experience managing or supervising engineering teams in a maintenance environment. Strong understanding of site engineering compliance and maintenance systems.

Desirable:



Experience within

FMCG or manufacturing

, ideally food or chilled environment. Knowledge of both electrical and mechanical engineering systems. Awareness of statutory engineering requirements and standards. IOSH or equivalent safety certification.
