Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Contractor - Social Housing (Northwest London)
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Contractors to support a busy social housing contract across Northwest London. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in property maintenance, who can work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work across various trades.
You'll be responsible for carrying out a range of reactive and planned maintenance tasks, ensuring that homes are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a long-term contract, contributing to the improvement of local housing and community living standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out a wide variety of repairs and maintenance work across occupied and void social housing properties (e.g. plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating).
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and scopes of work to complete installations and repairs effectively.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment in line with all health and safety guidelines.
Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from tenants, housing officers, or site supervisors.
Supervise or mentor junior staff or apprentices where required, providing guidance and oversight.
Liaise with the office and other departments to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Requirements
Proven experience in a similar multi-trade role within social housing or property maintenance.
Ability to read and understand scopes of work, job sheets, and technical documentation.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Experience supervising small teams or apprentices is an advantage.
Excellent customer service skills, with a professional and respectful approach to tenants and colleagues.
Must have own tools, valid CSCS card (preferred), and full driving licence.
