At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
About the Role:
This is an exciting time to be joining the Estates & Facilities Services as we form a new Minor Works team to enhance the student experience across our campuses and bring life to spaces where ideas and learning thrive. We are seeking to appoint 2 skilled and enthusiastic Maintenance Operatives with a key focus on carrying out high quality painting and decorating, small building fabric works, such as plastering and making good, and renovating washrooms across the university campuses in Chelmsford and Writtle.
The successful candidate will be a talented painter who can help transform student spaces into environments that are welcoming and that inspire, energise and bring people together. With a relevant trade qualification equivalent to level 3 City and Guilds/NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating, building or construction, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience in painting and decorating, including surface preparation, application and finish. You will have practical, hands-on DIY skills, great attention to detail, proficiency in small building fabric works and be familiar with health and safety practices.
