Key objectives:

Responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest suites, meeting space, restaurant, bar, and common areas. Responsible for delivering the planned and re-active maintenance activities with minimum impact to guests and within agreed budget controls and timeframes. Responsibility for all Health Safety aspects ensuring that guests, customers, and employees are kept safe at all times and any concerns highlighted are managed effectively and efficiently. Building and maintaining relationships with the key stakeholders ensuring that a quality service is provided by the engineering department to our colleagues guests. To be fully involved in identifying opportunities for Energy Management, educating others along this journey so that all employees become aware of energy wastage.

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for upkeep and maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property, restaurant, bar and grounds. Responds to all maintenance concerns. Performs and/or monitors maintenance and preventative maintenance projects. Responds to all building related safety concerns. Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures. Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checklists. Assist management in specifying proper supplies and equipment for operations. Deals with guest related concerns. Maintain the guest rooms, public space, and back of the hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

Previous Experience within a similar role in the Hospitality Industry is desirable Able to demonstrate sound maintenance and electrical knowledge. Must possess knowledge of basic hand/power tool operation. Health and safety and risk assessment experience. Excellent interpersonal skills. Experience of dealing with people at all levels.
