Overview


We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of machinery and equipment across our facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, as well as supervisory experience. The Maintenance Associate will play a vital part in maintaining safety standards, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer service. Candidates must possess strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties



Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using schematics and technical manuals. Repair or replace faulty components, including welding and electrical parts, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Program and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise equipment performance. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation accurately. Supervise maintenance tasks carried out by team members or contractors, providing guidance and leadership. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes. Assist in training junior staff or apprentices on maintenance procedures and safety protocols. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules that minimise operational disruptions. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health & safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements



Proven experience in maintenance roles within industrial or manufacturing environments. Strong electrical experience, including working with PLCs and electrical schematics. Mechanical knowledge with skills in welding, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery. Familiarity with reading technical diagrams such as schematics and wiring diagrams. Supervising experience demonstrating leadership capabilities in team management or project oversight. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while prioritising safety and quality standards. Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical or mechanical maintenance are preferred but not essential. Any skills listed above is not all necessary however, punctual, own tools (handle tools and powers tools is required) you must have your own transport. proof either self employed UTR OR driving license will be required!
