OVERVIEW OF THE JOB



We take great pride in our buildings and grounds, and the maintenance team play a crucial part in this ensuring a safe, working, and high-quality environment for our students, staff and visitors. As a Maintenance Operative Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth, efficient and effective running of the maintenance team and school estate, using best practice principles to manage resources, services, and process to meet the needs of the school and the wider business. Our maintenance team carry out a variety of duties including repairs, routine maintenance, painting, basic plumbing and electrical works, cleaning, gardening and caretaking across the School buildings, boarding residences, and grounds on a day-to-day basis; ensuring these are completed to a high standard at all times. This role plays a vital part in the overall Operations Team of the school which is made up of three departments: Cleaning, Catering and Maintenance.


This is a full-time position working 42.5hrs per week. Shift patterns are on a Monday-Friday basis 08:00 - 17:00. Please note, you will be required to participate in an on-call duty as part of the rota.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Essential:



Supervisory experience Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations Experience in construction, maintenance, and all facets of building operations. Facilities Management- Experience.

Desirable:



Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems IOSH Managing Safely or willing to work towards Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management, business administration, human resources, finance and procurement/ contract management Solid computer and systems knowledge
