The Role:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative/Handyman to join our growing team. You will be responsible for maintaining our portfolio of hotels and apartments to the highest standards, ensuring our guests enjoy comfortable and safe accommodations.
Key Responsibilities :
Property Maintenance
Carry out planned preventative maintenance across all properties
Respond to urgent maintenance requests and emergency call-outs
Perform routine inspections of rooms, common areas, and building systems
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completion of work
General Repairs & Maintenance:
Plumbing: Fix leaks, unblock drains, replace taps and toilet mechanisms
Electrical: Basic electrical repairs, light fixture replacement, socket installation
Carpentry: Door adjustments, furniture repairs, shelving installation
Decorating: Touch-up painting, wallpaper repairs, general room refreshing
HVAC: Basic heating and air conditioning maintenance
Tiling: Bathroom and kitchen tile repairs and replacement
Guest-Facing Services:
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests during stays
Ensure minimal disruption to guests while completing repairs
Maintain professional appearance and demeanor when on property
Health & Safety:
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and systems
Report any safety hazards or concerns immediately
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a maintenance operative, handyman, or similar role
Multi-skilled with experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating
Ability to travel across London using public transport
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and customer service focus
Flexible approach to working hours including weekends and emergency call-outs
Physical fitness for manual work and lifting
Desirable Requirements
Experience in hospitality or hotel maintenance
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications
PAT testing accreditation
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Basic knowledge of building management systems
