Maintenance Worker

to join our team at Forbes House. The ideal candidate will be experienced in general maintenance and have both

driving and IT skills

, ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:



Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including general repairs. Ensure all equipment and appliances are in good working order. Perform inspections and assessments of the care home's physical environment and facilities. Drive to local suppliers or other care home locations to deliver/collect items and materials. Record and monitor maintenance requests and updates via our IT systems. Assist with the implementation of health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Liaise with contractors for larger repairs or installations. Ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of the care home environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:



Full UK Driving License (essential for travel to external locations). Previous experience in maintenance or a similar hands-on role. Good IT skills, including basic knowledge of using maintenance management software and email. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents, families, and colleagues. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and their application within a care setting.

Desirable Skills:



Previous experience in a care home environment. Qualifications in basic electrical, plumbing, or maintenance work.
