How do you ensure the completion of planned maintenance work?
This is a great opportunity for an engineer to ensure the effective day-to-day planning of resources and prioritisation of work across multiple sites on all allocated projects. This role is based in the Thames Estuary team.
Starting salary 50,126 to 52,676 pa
including allowances. Contribution Pension max Total 18%
Paid overtime + Bonus (2025 - up to 4%)

Hours - 37 Avg Monday to Friday, Days only (Winter 36 hrs / Summer 38 hrs - 4 day working pattern).

Role Overview
As the Maintenance Project Lead, you will be responsible for the organising and prioritisation of on-site engineering works, we call projects. This covers maintenance, installations, refurbishments and replacements of electricity transmission high voltage plant and equipment. You'll organise teams of fitters ensuring they are productive through working safely and efficiently. This includes the planning and allocation of works, pre-ordering of equipment, plant and spares reducing the risk of planned work not starting. This role also requires authorisations under NG Safety rules and procedures, we'll put you through training for Competent Person (CP).
The team SAP Engineers will also require your assistance through the organising of non-high voltage paperwork such as producing risk assessments and method statements for all work activities, ensuring that staff are set to work in accordance with National Grid policy and procedures, and that toolbox talks take place. Communication with the Operations Manager, Substation Supervisory Engineer, SAP Engineers and Planning team is key to enabling the work programme to stay on track. Reviewing performance on completion of tasks ensuring a commercial focus is given in line with standard job times and budgets.
Requirements:
A recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering
OR
an ONC/NVQ Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification.
Experience of allocating or planning work for teams to complete.
You'll have excellent communication and organising skills.
Ability to produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to a high standard.
A Full UK Driving Licence.
You can use a computer.
