Job Description

We have an exciting brand-new position as Maintenance Supervisor to join our team for The Gate.



Some key duties for this great role:



To respond to maintenance requests in order of priority as instructed Supervise and coordinate daily tasks of maintenance staff or contractors. Liaise with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B) to minimize disruption during maintenance. Verify that all maintenance and repairs comply with health and safety standards. Maintain records of maintenance logs, equipment servicing, and inventory use. Approve completed work and ensure documentation is properly recorded. Responding to all enquiries promptly throughout all departments Carrying out maintenance repair work and ensuring the appropriate PPE is worn during all repairs Following and implementing planned preventative maintenance programs PPM in accordance with property requirements Conducting the general repairs of electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, fire protection, carpentry, plumbing, masonry Performs repairs and maintenance work to all guest rooms, public and service areas of the hotel to ensure they are well maintained Painting and decorative works Carrying out routine Engineering checks and logging these as required during shift Ensuring that all works are completed on schedule and compliant with requested standards and safety regulations To understand departmental risk assessments and follow C.O.S.H.H regulations, in particular the storage of hazardous substance To be fully conversant with hotel policies To undergo any training deemed necessary by the department Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships. Exercise responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel Ensure adherence to safety regulations and hotel policies. Monitor energy usage and suggest efficiency measures. Support engineering projects or renovations as needed.

Person Specification



Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills. Proven experience in general maintenance or facilities management within a hotel, hospitality, or commercial building environment. Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a maintenance or engineering department. Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary. Desire to work in fast-paced environments. Desirable trade qualification Advanced knowledge of building maintenance Good communication skills Committed to delivering a high level of customer service Excellent grooming standards Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations Ability to work on their own
